THE COMMUNITY PLAYERS PRESENTS
The Prom

PAWTUCKET, RI – Rhode Island's oldest community theater, The Community Players, currently
celebrating their 102nd season, is proud to present The Prom from April 12 – April 21, 2024.

After the disastrous opening of their latest show, four Broadway stars are in desperate need of a
new stage. So when they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town Indiana prom—and the
press is involved—they know that it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue…and themselves. The
town’s parents want to keep the dance on the straight and narrow—but when one student just wants
to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire town has a date with destiny. The Prom is based on an
original concept by Jack Viertel, with book by Chad Beguelin and Bob Martin, lyrics by Chad
Beguelin, and music by Matthew Sklar.

Directed by Christopher Margadonna of Pawtucket, with music direction by Joe Carvalho of
Providence, and choreography by Julia Gillis of North Smithfield, the production features the talents
of Kylie Cartier of Warwick, Jennifer Gillis of North Smithfield, Mitchell Burns of Providence, Greg
Gillis of North Smithfield, Giana Manzi of Milton, MA, Anthony DeRose of Lincoln, Michael Evora of
Providence, Nancy Kimble of Providence, Michael Viveiros of East Providence, Michael Mercado of
