2025 RI PrideFest &
Illuminated Night Parade
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who volunteered to help at our PFLAG Greater Providence and PFLAG Attleboro Booths at RI PrideFest and/or who marched with us in the Illuminated Night Parade.
This year we paid tribute to Myra B. Shays, founder of the PFLAG Greater Providence Chapter in 1998. Her daughter Barbara and son-in-law Charlie carried a special tribute banner along the parade route that we made in her honor. Myra was named an Honorary Grand Marshall for this year's Illuminated Pride Parade.
It was a long, hot day but we were all "Unapologetically Proud" to celebrate Pride in Rhode Island and we couldn't have done it without you, our wonderful and proud volunteers who stood in the hot sun to hand out our famous ribbon pins and talk to people about PFLAG. We love you for your dedication and support! See more photos and videos of PrideFest and the parade under the Gallery tab.
We also want to send a special Thank You to Rev. Kate Mainor-Goodness and Kelly Mainor-Goodness for lending us their pickup truck to serve as our "float" in the Illuminated Night parade and also to The Most Rev. Charles Vohs for letting us use his driveway and garage and to help us decorate and store the vehicle for the parade! They are clergy and members of the Chapel of St. Therese of Lisieux, a welcoming and inclusive independent Catholic faith community located in West Warwick, RI. Also a big Thank You to Joe and Dianne Ordog who put in the hard work of creating the awesome lighted wheel covers used in decorating our float! We also want to send a special Thank You to Rev. If you are in Newport next Saturday, June 28th, we will be at Newport Pride at the Friends Meeting House grounds. Stop by and say "Hi." If an evening event is more your vibe, come to see us at "Party with Pride" at Roger Williams Park Zoo on July 19th from 6-10 p.m.
Happy Pride Everyone!
